Super Bowl final: Biggest upset ever? I’m leaning yes
Giants win 17-14. Holy holy holy cow. I’d say it’s the biggest Super Bowl upset ever, mostly because of the way they did it — they just didn’t let the Patriots’ offense get going. (I will also say, my man Kawakami knows his football, and I hope everyone who has e-mailed him with their thoughts of his idiocy in the past two weeks still has his address handy.)
The reason I think it’s the biggest: People who thought the Giants would win thought Eli Manning would have a great game and the Giants would have a clean sheet on turnovers — and he was very good, on third down and on that last star-making drive — but they struggled.
No, the wonderment is that the Giants defense just dominated the alleged greatest offense of all time.
Here’s why it’s bigger than the other great ones, though:
–The 1969 Colts, from what I’ve been told and know, were by no means considered the greatest of all time or anywhere close. These 2007 Patriots were.
–The 2001 Patriots, obviously, turned out to be a little better than everyone thought. And the 2001 Rams not quite as good. (Plus, insert your own beliefs about the videotapes here.)
–The 1997 Broncos had John Elway and Terrell Davis, and the following year they embarked on a quest for perfection of their own, and almost made it. There was tons more talent there than anyone thought.
Those are my top four Super Bowl upsets, and the more I consider it, the more this is No. 1.

The Giants should have beaten the Patriots in Week 17. So I respectfully disagree with the biggest upset ever label.
you’re an r-tard. its the SUPER BOWL!!!
