Reading Mullin: Maybe the Warriors are chasing Garnett, not Yi
Wrote a column after my conversation with Chris Mullin for this morning’s paper, mainly focusing on his feeling that Don Nelson is almost certainly back onboard for the 2007-2008 Warrior season.
Not five-alarm news, I realize, but still was fairly important to get down on print/in the web universe once Nelson put out the possibility of retirement the day after the season.
As always, however, there are extra isssues that I either cruised through too swiftly in the column or, due to space, time and typing requirements, not at all.
That’s what this blog is for! To work extra! (And to balance out my more obvious informational/analytical short-falls! Oops, I don’t want to be yelling about that part.)
Let’s do this, no transitions necessary:
* As I mentioned in the column (briefly), Mullin could be blowing smoke, but he sure doesn’t sound like somebody about to move heaven, earth, and Monta Ellis in order to move up in the draft to pluck Chinese 7-footer Yi Jianlian.
In fact, Mullin didn’t sound particularly crazy-in-love with anybody in the draft (yet), and he’s about half-way through the Warriors’ individual workout/meet-and-greet final draft process.
Again: Mullin is possibly utilizing diversionary tactics to try to throw off the Yi-to-the-Warriors gossip. Understood.
But if he and Nelson were contemplating that kind of big move (from the 18 slot to 5-6-7, something like that) to get Yi, I think Mullin would’ve seemed more intrigued by the thought.
Mullin and Nelson just went down to see Yi in LA on Monday. Mullin knows Yi’s agent, Dan Fegan, very well. They know Yi probably would like to end up in a big market with a significant Chinese population, which means Boston, Chicago, the Warriors, LA and maybe Atlanta come quickest to mind.
I didn’t hear wow-what-a-player-he-is enthusiasm in Mullin’s voice.
I heard: Yeah, he’s pretty good, and there are other pretty good guys in this draft, too.
* This point, I admit, is slightly contradictory, but I’ll keep going on this: The very fact that we’re hearing Yi-to-the-Warriors chatter might tell you it’s not going to happen. (Alert! I could be over-reading here.)
I talk to Mullin as much as anybody–have talked to him regularly throughout his Warrior chieftain tenure–and along with the national media, I’ve been completely surprised by either the timing or the context or both (but not the logic or the background) of his four biggest moves:
1. Hiring Mike Montgomery.
2. Trading for Baron Davis.
3. Firing Montgomery and hiring Don Nelson.
4. Trading Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy and Ike Diogu for Al Harrington and Stephen Jackson.
The national media/gossip mill never knows what Mullin’s up to. Never. Sometimes I can guess at the edges, but not reliably and not at the precise moment.
Mullin works in the shadows. He loves working in the shadows. He doesn’t kibbitz much with GMs, national writers and rumor-mill favorites.
It’s harder to do that in the draft, of course, because you’re working so closely with agents to arrange the workouts and talk slots, and agents talk and talk and talk and talk.
(Though Fegan hasn’t returned my calls on this one, I think he has done plenty of talking to some of the better draft speculators to juice up the Yi intrigue. Hey, that’s Danny’s job.)
But I don’t think it’s in Mullin’s nature to plot out a big move (for example, trading Jason Richardson or Ellis or Biedrins or some combination) for a specific draftee, then blab about it so much that we all hear about it weeks before he does it.
In fact, I’d figure it’d work the other way. If he’s connected in the speculation to a particular player, Mullin is probably not going in that direction.
Mullin seemed mildly amused by the Yi-Warriors speculation. Unless he’s a better actor than I realize, I think he actually was semi-surprised and not terribly bothered by talk that could help the Warriors land another player (if Yi goes too high) or force another team to try to top a speculated Warrior offer.
Right now, Mullin’s supposedly connected to Yi. My guess: Probably not going to happen.
Unless he’s doing the double-head-fake, starting gossip in order for us to bat it down or ignore it, then surprising us by going the other way… Nah, that makes my head hurt.
* Plus, the Warriors, as I’ve mentioned in previous posts, probably don’t have enough ammunition to move up high enough to land Yi, if Yi really projects to be an impact big man.
I don’t think Mullin’s trading Jason Richardson in a Yi deal. I don’t think he’s trading Andris Biedrins in a Yi deal or at all. So that makes a Yi deal very difficult, doesn’t it?
* Let’s get back to Nelson: If he’s back, and I’m saying that he is, you can only count on him for one more season. I think that’d be the extent of it, and Nelson is worth any additional day you get out of him.
The Warriors want to win now. Nelson wants to win now. Mullin wants to win now. It’s not stupid, after that playoff run, for them to try to gun for a deep playoff run this season, if Baron Davis stays healthy and they can add a power forward right now.
Yeah, and that’d be a Kevin Garnett type. Actually, that’d be Kevin Garnett, exactly.
If, as rumored, Boston really is about to offer Al Jefferson, Gerald Green and the No. 5 pick (plus salary-cap-balancing extras) for Garnett, that’s more than Mullin can offer. Much more.
Minnesota chief Kevin McHale ain’t the brightest bulb in the box, but even he has to pull the trigger on that one, doesn’t he?
But if that’s not the Boston offer or if somehow the Celtics shy away from Garnett or if Garnett lets the Timberwolves that he doesn’t want to go to Boston…
I mean, KG’s an interesting team-up with Paul Pierce and the East is weak, but how much better is Garnett’s situation if Boston has to gut itself to get him? He’d again go to a team that has no point guard and a team whose weak roster would force him to play a lot of center.
That could still keep the Warriors in it. The Warriors can’t come close to the Boston potential offer, but they can offer interesting things, and to KG’s liking, they can trade for him without gutting their playoff core.
He has to love Nellie-ball, right?
Any Warrior offer could involve some combination of Patrick O’Bryant, Richardson (if Mullin is willing to put him out there), Ellis, possibly Biedrins, this year’s and future No. 1 picks, Al Harrington, Mickael Pietrus or Matt Barnes (if the trade doesn’t become official until mid-July, since Pietrus is a restricted and Barnes is an unrestricted free agent).
Boston’s package is better. But Mullin could still be in play, especially if KG lets it be known that he wants to end up with the Warriors.
I’ve written about Garnett and the Warriors for 100 years, I think. 100 consecutive years. This is the last year, I swear. I can go 1-for-100, just like Vizquel.

“Just when I thought I was out…they pull me back in.”
Tim, how many times are you gonna lure me into braggin to the haters that we’re gonna land Garnett.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 99 times, shame on me.
Oh hell shame on me then, gimme Garnett!!!
Garnet lacks a no trade clause in his contract according to ESPN. So it really does not matter if he wants to go to the Celtics or not. However, why wouldn’t KG want to go to the Leastern conference? After seeing Cleaveland make it to the finals, he has to believe any team can make it.
Our best hope is that Biedrens and Ellis continue to develop. We should stand pat and draft some guy to replace the loss of Pietrus or Barnes.
Garnett would propel the Warriors as one of the top five teams in the West as long as Baron stays healthy. As much as I love Richardson, he seems like the most logical player to go. He has a limited offensive game and I don’t seem him getting any better than he is now (before the knee surgery). If we can somehow get Garnett for Harrington, Pietrus and JR plus the two first rounders, it would be an absolute steal. I think I would be happy to trade anyone in that list except for Biedrins. I don’t think skilled big men come around often and Biedrins has a chance to be a solid 10 year NBA center.
Adam Lauridsen says:
http://www.mercextra.com/blogs/warriors/2007/05/22/kg-dreaming/
Warriors give: Monta Ellis ($0.8), Jason Richardson ($11.1), Al Harrington ($8.4), and Patrick O’Bryant ($2.2).
Warriors get: Kevin Garnett ($22.0), Carlos Arroyo ($4.0).
Cap impact: +$3.5 (although Arroyo comes off the books in a year).
Wolves give: Kevin Garnett ($22.0)
Wolves get: Monta Ellis ($0.8), Darko Milicic ($8.0 sign-and-trade), Al Harrington ($8.4), Patrick O’Bryant ($2.2), and Keith Bogans ($2.7).
Cap impact: +0.1.
Magic give: Darko Milicic ($8.0 sign-and-trade), Carlos Arroyo ($4.0), Keith Bogans ($2.7)
Magic get: Jason Richardson ($11.1)
Cap impact: -$3.6 (assuming Darko would have been resigned). Because Darko would be earning more than 20% over his last contract, he becomes a base year compensation player. A BYC player is only worth 50% of his new contract in trades. For example, if he signs a $8 million deal, the Magic can only take $4 million in return. Pairing him with end of the bench guys Arroyo and Bogans helps even out the numbers. Under the fake math of the BYC, the Magic send out $10.7 and receive $11.1, well within the 125% limit.
Nathan : Kobe is the only player with a No-Trade Clause.
“Garnett lacks a no-trade clause like Bryant’s, but he’s only a year from having the right to leave Minnesota without compensation.”
Although it was said that due to Garnett’s loyalty over the years, McHale will consult with KG before making any trade.

My bad, I missed the “lacks” part of Nathan’s statement.
Tim,
I just want to apologize for critizing your article this morning. Woke up on the grouchy side after watching these Giants absolutely stink. This is much better. Thanks.
Garnett is EXACTLY the guy to make Nelson prance around the gym happy to be back. Suddenly his energy is higher, smile wider and hip healed like its a twenty year olds. Thats why Nelson is back. For one serious run at the Championship.
It would hurt to see JRich should this happen. I definitely would not want Biedrins to go too. But is these two were packaged to land KG, who would fill the center spot?
How about a rich fella by the name of Adonal Foyle…he’s still alive isn’t he?
WARRIORS GIVE UP: Steven Jackson ($6.6M); Al Harrington ($8.4M); Adonal Foyle ($8.9M); 18th Pick; Future 1st rounder - TOTAL = $23.9M

*STARTERS: Jordan Farmar; Mike Miller; Steven Jackson; Al Harrington; Andrew Bynum
Nevin, that’s a masterpiece of a trade.
You can’t sell Laker tix for that starting line-up. DAMN the Clips would outsell them!!
Nice try though - a five team trade? You’d need a team of accountants to pull that off.
—
I’m all for KG, like Mr. Mully I suspect TK is only toying with our emotions like a string to a cat but whatever:
Bring me the Big Ticket and let Cohan figure out how to pay for it.
Cheers!
It only took me 3 hours to post it. I had to re-type the whole thing 3 times because the original format was too long and I didn’t remember copy it before I hit submit. Painful…
But Mano, if they are in a “rebuilding” stage, they get Miller, Harrington and Bynum, plus the 5th pick this year and move up a spot with our pick…screw it, you drive a hard bargin so I’ll throw in our 2nd round pick in this years draft and next years draft.
How about that?
Man! Baron throwing Ally.O0Ops to KG sounds too good!
Courtside season tix for LAL are like $100,000!! You will not sell those with that lineup. Jack Nicholson will have to fly up to the Oracle to catch some real game.
Lackers HAVE TO BE marquee y’know? That’s the best part of the Kobe soap opera. They need each other AND they hate each other. Pithy cat fight for sure. All the better for the dubs.
That last Vizquel remark was a low blow Tim. Very uncharacteristic of you ; unless you were talking about Vizquel’s fielding percentage. That must be it. You’re saying you can go 1 for 100, just like Vizquel averages 1 error in 100 fielding attempts. That’s what you meant right? Of course that’s what you meant. Yeah right.
Prediction…if the W’s move up it will be because Nellie will include future No. 1’s, not just this years pick…
Oldfan-
Say…THREE future number one’s?
This is the best way to get Garnett without giving up Ellis or Biedrins. Portland wants to get rid of Randolph and Harrington would fit perfectly with their new team. Getting Randolph and Richardson would be hard for McHale to say no.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=308~3019~1018~1017~261&teams=22~22~16~16~9
i think that kg would look sick in a golden state uniform
KG and #7 pick to Lakers for Kobe? can you picture it?
Hey warriors fans , keep hoping for kg cause he aint goin to boston and most likely the suns . but u guys and the suns play same type of ball . he would love to play wit nash but also i think baron too. but kg nash amare or baron kg and ??? which is better u guys tell me sorry.
Only way we do this is if Garnett pushes the issue with his idiot owner/GM and demands the trade he should have demanded two years ago.
And then we only budge if we can do it for Jason, Al, and POB. Period. KG is old, his contract is ugly, and Minnesota done screwed up his career to the point of taking what they’re given. Two NBA starters who can score big points and a Minny native C prospect for a dude they lose next year anyway who just wants a shot at the big proze. He won’t come if the Ws are gutted to get him.
I agree with what Chris said. If Golden State could land KG for JR, Al and whatever(player/picks) they will be in a position to contend for maybe 3-4-5 seasons and the Wolves can get on with what they should be doing, rebuilding. They would have players, picks and options for their fans and city after finally getting over the Joe Smith cockup. Works both ways.
kg to the suns for marion
i heard kg is getting traded to the bucks for charlie v,charlie bell, ruben patterson, and their first round draft pick.
Warriors should trade in either Monta Ellis(although i don’t really want him to go), Al Harrington, Adonal foyle, Patrick O’bryant for KG
They must not let Jrich go beacuase if the KG deal will be succesful with Richardson in it. That would be good.
Since all of the focus of the opponents will go to KG and Baron Davis, Jrich will be the “Bruce Bowen” of the Warriors whom you will never know and all of a sudden he’s gonna be open. And he’s still capable of hitting big shots.
Yawn… Can we start a petition to remove Kawakami from the Merc?
That was a lot of work, Nevin, and a good job, but the other poster was right when he said the Lakers would never go for that trade.
I don’t think that starting five would win 25 games and there’s just no way they’d ever accept that in Laker land.
And to whoever said that KG doesn’t have a no trade clause, the point is that it doesn’t really matter. Whoever would trade KG would only do it if he’d indicate that he’d want to sign a long term extension with the team. Otherwise, why gut your team for a guy you’ll only have 1 year before he becomes a free agent? That’s why the Celts deal died. KG just said he wouldn’t sign an extension, so the Celts killed it. And he’ll do that with any team and any trade that he doesn’t like.
Then he can just play one more year, become a free agent next summer and get paid megabucks to play for *whoever he wants*.
we need garnett to go to boston and kobe to go to new york and make the east a little stronger.right now it really is as kenny smith says the JV conference against the varsity.
Minnesota is looking for a star or two young kids with upside and picks in exchange for KG. So there is no chance Golden State could land him without including Ellis and Beidrins. I’d say it’s still iffy at best because Golden States first rounder isn’t a lottery pick.
That five team trade has no prayer of happening. What a waste of time.
First off the problem is if anyone wants to land KG the t wolves are going to want too much i wouldnt give up all those players for someone who can opt out anyway and also older no way i give up gerald green in any deal or al jefferson and 2 1st rounders?thats steep to have kg paired with pierce where is the future of this team?the warriors can afford to give up players like monta ellis and biedrins with the talent on their roster id give em monta ellis biedrins harrington 1st rounders salary throw in now youre looking at KG B Diddy J Rich Stephen Jackson get a center and they have a chance to win the tough west
First of all KG wants to win a championship. Second of all he deserves to win a championship. Also KG has too much clout with the T-Wolves executives to be sent yet again to a bad team. It wouldn’t be fair for KG or Kobe for that matter to not be traded. KG has been with the T-Wolves for like 12 loyal years. Stuck with them through thick and thin. As an all time great(regardless that he has not won a championship) he should be able to pick where he wants to go and when and the Wolves organization should try to make it happen. I personally know as a Wolves fan that i would rather watch KG do well someplace than suffer through another season here in Minnesota. Aside from that i would like to publically thank Tim Kawakami for saying that Kevin McHale is not the brightest bulb in the box. Because he is terrible… I would say one of the worst team executives of the last decade at the least. I mean seriously… Michael Olowakandi… Wats with that!
Yoo guys … HOW bout kg for kobe .. straight swap .. ima from canada and I am raptors fan … we as a developing team or any developing team nither need kobe nor garnet .. both are ball hoggers. BUT SHAWN MARION .. come on i love that guy .. a complete player. Ima saying mo peterson + first rounder for marion
a 3 way trade… portland, minnie, and warriors
minnie: give: nevin
get: randolph, miles , jones and foyle
portie: give: randolph, jones and miles
get: harrington, jackson
gs: give: harrington, jackson, foyle
get: nevin
how do you like that?
Lewis…
thats a bad trade…
trade KG to my backyard for my grandpa
and plays 1on1 with me
now KG can win some championships.
it will be good if garnett will go to the GS.
so that the GS will be a stronger team again.
garnett failed to have his playoffs because he
have no help in Minnesota. no offense! he may play well if he will team up with baron davis.
kg to denver…
denver gets kg
minnesota gets camby and martin
blake,iverson,anthony,garnet and nene
awch…
That KG to denver deal is what I can say the most “possible” thing to happen. Both can benefit to the trade but the reason Minnesota will turn this down because they want to rebuild, and rebuild means no oldies.
But that’s one hell of a great idea you got there Marthy the future GM!
Nevin420 and Bryan are both damn idiots (posts 11 and 12). No way in hell lakers give up the best player in that trade (Kobe) and not even get back the 5th best player!!!!
fucckkkkkkkk
I am a big KG and warriors fan, and KG is what the warriors need; bad! He is a force inside which the warriors didnt have, he can run with the team, can shoot from 25 ft. He’s the perfect player for the warriors. Pls. make this deal. I’ve been praying for these everynight.
The warriors will present kevin Garnett as a warrior tommorow!! The warriors and the timberwolves have reportedly agreed to a trada for KG!!! the warriors have trade Adonal Foyle,Mickael pietrus, and josh Powell for kevin garnett and some cash. Celebrat warrior fans
The warriors will present kevin Garnett as a warrior tommorow!! The warriors and the timberwolves have reportedly agreed to a trada for KG!!! the warriors have trade Adonal Foyle,Mickael pietrus, and josh Powell for kevin garnett and some cash. Celebrate warrior fans!!
KG won’t do it for the Warriors - he could never play as up-tempo as they play, even as a center. if you actually watch him play, he always posts up, needs an entry pass, and usually takes forever to get into his move.
but anybody wanna start the Baron-for-Kobe rumors, THEN I’m all ears…
oooh.. if kg is willing to win a championship then change his game in order to help gs to win a championship… always player are adjusting not the team who adjust on just one player… right sweet d? kg can play up tempo style if he is willing to have a ring..
I don’t think that Garnett should be traded to the Warriors because they should not let go of their players like JRich and Baron, etc. Another team that would offer a trade to Garnett is a good idea.
I think that KG should be traded to the Boston Celtics, but he has rejected the trade. Since he has rejected a trade, Phoenix Suns would be his second trade. This would be a good idea to trade Shawn Marion because Phoenix is a good team and he will make the team even stronger.
well..i’d like to see KG in warriors..minnie can get young guns like stephen jackson, pietrus, future draft picks .etc…perhaps this is the 1st step minnie can move to rebuild?
or mayb,let Kg to decide..lol..
=) chill
mayb warriors can pick Yi..
thn only trade him and other players for KG.i think minnie’d prefer to let KG go in return getting a bunch of young fellas..
If draft and trade Yi, warriors can still keep Biendrins.
chill =)
i will never play for that stupid GS team!
much better if i can play for the East to
shift the balance of power!!
KG is the most over rated player in the entire NBA in his 12 year career hes been to the playoffs only a handful of time and never accomplished anything other than individual records basketball is a team game and KGs team has never accomplished anything if i were golden state i would keep the solid foundation i have and add some key role players instead of giving away future stars for an over rated past his prime old man
Nuff Said
kinda agree w u nuff =)
please listen all yall
Kobe for KG is never gonna happen, so forget about it. Now, the Boston Celtics have a young team thatll be good in the future, but KG said no to that deal already. The Suns have Shawn Marion, and want some one thats at least a scorer in return, or an all star at least. Little fags like Mo Pete wont do shit for the suns, the suns are stacked with shooters. you want a deal? heres one..
Minnesota Gives away: Kevin Garnett
Minnesota Receives: Andrew Foyle, Lakers 19th pick, Golden States 18th pick, Matt Barnes, Al Harrington
Phoenix Gives away: Shawn Marion, 24th pick, Marcus Banks, James Jones
Phoenix Receives: Kobe Bryant
Golden State Gives away: Andrew Folye, 18th pick, Matt Barnes, Al Harrington, 2nd Round Pick
Golden State Receives: Kevin Garnett
Lakers Gives away: Kobe Bryant, 19th pick
Lakers Receives: Shawn Marion, 24th pick,
Marcus Banks, James Jones, Golden State 2nd round pick
but i think Pheonix dun need Bryant..they’re fine..lakers fans dun really wana see Marion..they would prefer Bryant. Warriors dun nd to sacrifice so much to demand the overated KG~
peace
True Balla i think ur trades the most realistic because Kobe wants a change and so does KG, and Minnesota needs young talent so getting those draft picks would mean a lot and getting Al would mean making a better team. Golden State might be giving up too much for KG, but KG, Baron Davis and J-Rich is a pretty good team. The suns KOBE NASH AMARE would be unstoppable, lakers getting marion, some shooters and young talent would make them better too, so every team is getting something good out of the trade.
Good Job True Balla!!
agree with hypno, True Ballas trade has every team getting something good out of it, but the LAKERS might want better than james jones and marcus banks, but their getting marion and two draft picks, so good trade man
that trade isn’t happening because kobe is staying in LA. A more likely scenario would be that Odom gets traded for a secondary scorer or a true point guard. Trust me on this one kobe isn’t leaving LA this offseason
no!! kg 4 a couple of 1st round picks (18th and 19th) nah!! if it is 4th and 5th maybe it will happen

how in the world does that comply to the salary cap
22 million dollar player for 2 draft picks???
Minnesota trades away KG for 3rd pick from atlanta and josh smith and josh childress and salim stoudemire. Then, Minnesota signs Chauncey Billups.
atlanta would never do that
come on KG going to the Celtics is the great deal of the ages I mean I fell sorry for the celtics they need a PF just give them a player they might be a challenge in the east
i am the biggest loser in the world an i like to sit on the wall my sister is a #$%
i AM THE GREATEST PLAYER IN THE NBA AND IM 11 I WILL BEAT ANBODY IN BASKETBALL EVEN KG SUCKER #$%&*
KG wont do shit with the celtics they still arent going to make the playoffs
hay!! no! no! a 3 way trade?!! denver trio? oh!! forget that!! if denver gets kg denver’s salary cap will explode… booom!!
the only thing that will happen is kg goes to phoenix for marion..
minnie.. lose: kg
gets: marion, thomas and 1st round draft.
phoenix..lose: marion, thomas, and draft choice
gets: kg
Phoenix lineup; nash, pg
barbosa, sg
bell, sf
kg, pf
amare, c
minnesota lineup; foye, pg
davis, sg
marion, sf
howard, pf
thomas, c
just a couple of reality checks to some idiots from earlier posts…
1. KG is not a ball hog.
2. eduardo g, what are you smoking…GS did not make the trade for kg.
3. kg for kobe will NEVER happen. wolves dont need another shooting guard.
4.kg is not going to boston. get over it and move on.
5. kg for shawn marion? no sir…you’d have to put some more stuff in with marion to get kg.
6. wolves will not sign chauncey billups. kevin mchale is too retarted to do something like that. he sucks as a GM.
7. kg will never go to ATL too.
8. KG is not the most overrated player in the nba. his team can never advance in the playoffs cuz the wolves never have any other good players. youre not gonna go anywhere if your starters were troy hudson or wally sczerbiak.
9. wolves need a point guard. foye may be good, but it just wont cut it in the west, you got other PG’s in the west like tony parker, baron davis and steve nash he’ll have to play against. oh yeah not to mention marko jaric and t-hud at backup is sad.
10. adonal foyle sucks. the guy is 400 years old.
Trade KG to the Nets for Richard Jefferson and Mikki Moore.
That’s as best it can get, the Nets will solidify, the wolves on the other hand can get young but experienced players, plus their 7th pick (Mike Conley Jr. I hope) to start their “rebuilding” process.
yeaaa…Kg for Marion?? no way!
Kg to Boston?? no way!
Bryant to suns might work..but if the lakers wana get marion, firstly they need to trade odom for a shooting guard. with sum draft picks from suns, lakers surely can do well.
however, pls take PHIL JACKSON into account, his type of balling, suits Kobe the best. i think Kobe wun leave Lakers, they’ll find sumone to assist him instead.chill~
comments pls.thx
hi yoki..i think tats too little for the wolves.
but nice try..it might happen.=)
Thanks for the comment Exlim… let’s say we add Jason Collins to that KG to Nets deal..? That might work? And I think the salary cap of these guys are pretty even… I think…?
- Denver trade Marcus Camby to Atlanta Hawks
*Atlanta get Camby
*Denver get 3rd pick from Atlanta
- Denver trade 3rd pick to Minnesota + Kenyon Martin( $14,431,818)+Kleiza($1,824,493)and cash….
*Minnesota pick Al Horford pick no.3 from Minnesota
*Minnesota pick Yi Jinlian pick no.7 (own a draft pick 7)
team salary cap of denver may be enough to aquire KG.

Marthy, do you think Atlanta is stupid enough to trade their 3rd pick for just Marcus Camby? Are you kidding me? Camby is good defensively but what they need is a back up scorer for Joe Johnson and rebounder in one package (Al Horford). Besides Camby is aging as well.
KG should be in the Nets. Trade KG and a 2nd rounder to the Nets for Richard Jefferson, Mikki Moore and their 1st round pick.
The Nets will be a power in the East and balance the shift. The Wolves will be young, but experienced (adding Jefferson and Moore on it.) Then pick Mike Conley if it’s still available. Then pick a guard-forward type of guy (maybe Aaron Affalo).
The Nets will then pick a big guy (maybe Glen Davis or Josh MacRoberts if still up for grabs) and done, And all they have to do now is watch Detroit and LeBron james tremble in fear that they will never reach the finals again!
theres no way kg is going to the east because no1 in the east can make a legit offer for him
no trade is going to happen, the gms want it all perfect but its impossible, i bet all players will stay with their teams. no gm has the balls to pull of a trade anyways
lahat b kau pinoy?!!
nyahahaha!!! i’m an avid fan of Mr. Big Ticket…
i want kg go to phoenix and team up with nash and amare..
kg and nash are in dog years right now, they must have a title before they retire,.. kg and nash deserves to have a championship ring.. if you are an avid fan of kg to pray for him to go to phoenix not other team.. in phoenix 80% sure they will go to finals
finals??i dun think sooo..
if kg reali wants to go the finals..the easier way is go to the EAST! team up w some good players n get the job done. no point wasting energy to fight for the top spot in the west.
BULLS GIVE UP: Ben Gordon ($4.8M); Luol Deng ($3.3M); PJ Brown ($8M); Chris Duhon ($3.2M); 9th Pick - TOTAL = $19.3M
BULLS GET: Kobe Bryant ($19.4M); Hakim Warrick ($1.3M); Lakers Pick (19th) - TOTAL = $20.7M
*STARTERS: Kirk Hinrick; Kobe Bryant; Andres Nocioni; Tyrus Thomas; Ben Wallace
I’m sorry, but I don’t think Chicago will go that far trading 3 of their future all star. Kobe is valuable and really good, but no one will give up their line up for a player that could get you 1 championship ? maybe not even one. The way I see it is Chicago is a future championship team. A team filled with so much potential players able to take over any time. Including the surprising performance of Tyrus Thomas game. Chicago know that they will have a solid team in a couple years.
east? yeah it is the easiest way.. but all team in the east don’t have the player in exchange for Mr. Big ticket…
oh ya..mayb minnie can go for Amare m some picks…
haha..
wow..allen went to boston..niceee..j-rich to bobs..wow..haha
hehehe.. yeah!! oh not amare., i think phoenix want to see the duo of kg and stat at the middle..
hahahah ur all fools
the real deal thats going down is Denver trading Marcus Camby and JR smith for kevin Garnett. Then Denver trades Nene Hilario, steve blake and Kenyon Martin for Shawn Marion, then sign Chauncey Billups
=============DENVER STARTING LINEUP==============
PG = Chauncey Billups
SG = Allen Iverson
SF = Carmelo Anthony
PF = Shawn Marion
C = Kevin Garnett
HOW DEADLY IS THAT SHIT HUH???
that Denver lineup looks like an all-star team, but how on earth will they get the money to sign Chauncey Billups? Thats a sickkkkk team though, and it might just happen. YOUR A GENIOUS MAN!!
it’s obvious that the warriors want garnett. it’s obvious that nelly knows that they’ve got something going. and if they want to keep things going, it’s obvious that garnett is an option that stands out. garnett to warriors will be almost a dram come true to all warriors fans. garnetts combimation of key game and his outter-j can mean that he will become the next x-factor on the warriors’ roster.
shit men!!.. yeah!! yeah!! kg to denver? oh come on..
denver has no salary cap to get kg.. (iverson)..
but may be it will happen camby and smith + maybe nene..4 sure.. but billups to denver, that’s no no
oh hell no…billups to denver?? in ur dream..
KG aint goin to denver either~
I do not think this is a likey destination for KG Golden State has some young talent but they won’t have enough talent left on the team to give KG confidence that they’ll win a championship. KG wants to win now!
demitrios is right kg wants a ring now..he’s not young anymore, he is in dog years right now, so the best thing to do is to go to phoenix and team up with nash and amare.. phoenix have the players to receive the man called the big ticket.like shawn marion, kurt thomas, barbosa, or even bell also..
its official
theres a deal
Steve Nash, Shawn Marion, Boris Diaw and Raja Bell and Amare Stoudemire======FOR======== Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony, Marcus Camby, Kenyon Martin and Nene Hilario.
SICKKKKKKKK THIS IS HAPPENING JULY 17 TH
The truth to the matter is someone has to go. Most likely Ellis,Harrington,Wright,Jasikevicius, O’Bryant will be traded for Yi. The hardest thing is to get rid of Foyle and Cabarkapa because they combine for over $10 million. those two will be the hardest ones to move unless the Garnett trade goes through. I think it’s more logical to get Yi in the Warriors because he can provide us with the rebounds and block shots. I have a feeling when it’s all said and done the Bucks will trade Yi to the Warriors.
If the KG trade some how comes true, then the Warriors will not sign back Matt Barnes. Barnes was the key to the Warriors success last season and I hate to let him go. KG will only be good to us for another two to three years. It will take a lot of players to even match his salary. If the Warriors really want KG they should get rid of Harrington, Foyle, O’Bryant, Jasikevicius and two second round picks for him. Those four players will match KG’s salary.
HeY Twolves!!!
no need to trade KG,
just put it back Chauncey Billups to twolves to have a great line-ups and bring the twolves to the championship this coming 2007-08 nba season.
and put also Darko Milicic to the team
Milicic have a big chance to be superstar atlethe.
the great twolves line-ups
Garnett
Davis
Milicic
Billups
McCants/Foye
minnie have no salary cap to sign billups..
T-Wolves trade Garnett to the Warriors:
Warriors get KG
T-Wolves get Brandan Wright, Ellis, Foyle and Biedrins,
Warriors line up
PG - Davis
SG - Belinelli
SF - Jackson
PF - KG
C - Harrington
…just a thought
warriors give ellis harrington and biedris and they recieve KG and money
